Choosing the spot

Place the thangka somewhere elevated and dignified — never in the master bedroom, kitchen or bathroom. Ideal height is at or above eye level.

Orientation

Best facing the main door or East. Avoid direct sunlight, which fades mineral pigments.

What to avoid

• Never hang a thangka lower than ordinary decor
• Dust gently with a clean dry cloth
• When not displayed, roll gently and wrap in clean cloth
